Seminar A Soldier of Peace: Mahatma Gandhi’s Use of Non-Violence, Peace and Harmony and Its Relevance Today

On August 10, 2017, SSEAYP Indonesia organised a seminar titled A Soldier of Peace: Mahatma Gandhi’s Use of Non-Violence, Peace and Harmony and Its Relevance Today. This seminar was held with support from the Ship for World Youth (SWY) Alumni Association – India, Universitas Paramadina, and the Tempo Institute.

Shobhana Radhakrishna, Chief Functionary of the Gandhian Forum for Good Corporate Governance, stated in her lecture that Indonesia should continue with the existing national values and principles to live in peace and harmony within diversity. Meanwhile Ravi Chopra, President of the Ship for World Youth Alumni Association-India dan Centre for Gandhian Vision and Values, highlighted that youth can apply Gandhi values into practice, as contribution to society in their respective countries.

Dr. Shiskha PrabawaningtyasHead of Paramadina Graduate School of Diplomacy, expressed her gratitude for the lecture that was shared by the two presenters. She wished that this seminar can enhance the people-to-people cooperation between Indonesia and Indonesia. At the end of the seminar, Arief Rizky Bakhtiar, Deputy-President of SSEAYP International Indonesia invited the audiences to participate in Project 30/50: Retype for Brighter Literacy and handed the token to presenters and host of this seminar.
